Coconut milk rice recipe, (thengai pal sadham recipe), coconut rice recipe

                                                        






Ingredients:


  • 1/2 Coconut shell
  • 2 large onion, slice it
  • 2 medium tomato, slice it
  • 5 green chilli, slit it
  • 1 cup rice (200g)
  • curry leaves
  • coriander leaves
  • 1 cinnamom stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil


Procedure for preparation:


Step 1: Soak the rice for 20 minutes, and extract the coconut milk from the coconut and keep aside.


Ratio:

1 cup rice = 2 cups water
                1 : 2

Here 2 cups of water is including coconut milk extract.

2 cups of water = water + coconut milk.

Step 2: Keep the pressure cooker on stove, pour 4tbsp oil, put cinnamom stick, cloves and fry it, then add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, green chillies, sliced onion and fry it, then add sliced tomato and fry it, until onion and tomato merge together.


Step 3: Then pour 2 cups of water, including coconut milk in the cooker and add salt as per the taste. Allow the water to boil for sometimes, then put the rice and close the cooker and then allow for 5 whistle. (If you use basmati rice, just allow only 2 whistle)

Step 4: Once the pressure goes down, garnish with coriander leaves and start serving it hot.








 

Grated coconut rice recipe, ( thaengaai saadham recipe)

                                                              






Ingredients:


  • 1 cup grated coconut.
  • 1 and half cup cooked rice
  • curry leaves
  • 1tbsp black gram
  • 1tbsp bengal gram
  • 4 dried red chilli, slit it
  • oil
  • salt as per taste
  • coriander leaves
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds


Procedure for preparation:

Step 1: Keep the pan on the stove, pour 3tbsp oil, put mustard seeds, bengal gram, black gram, curry leaves, dried chilli and fry it, following that add onion and fry it for few minutes.

Step 2: Then put the grated coconut and fry for few minutes, then put boiled rice and fry it for few minutes, add salt as per your taste and stir the rice carefully for few more minutes.

Step 3: Then garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.

This dish is very simple and easy to prepare quickly.

Tomato chutney recipe 2, ( Thakkali chutney)

                                                               







Ingredients:


  • Onion (200g), cut into big pieces
  • Tomato (200g), cut into pieces
  • Curry leaves
  • 1tbsp chilli powder
  • 1/2tbsp coriander powder
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • 10 pods garlic
  • 50g coconut pieces
  • 2tbsp oil
  • Salt as per taste.


Procedure for preparation:

Step 1: Keep the pan on the stove, pour oil, put onion pieces, tomato pieces, curry leaves, garlic and fry it for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Then put chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and continue frying for another 5 minutes, then add coconut pieces and fry for 2 minutes. Now all the masala get mixed nicely. Keep the content aside for few minutes and allow it to cool.

Step 3: Put the content in food processor and grind it to paste. Transfer the grinded content to a bowl and serve it for idly, dosa and etc..

Spicy Chicken soup recipe




                                             


Ingredients:

  • Chicken pieces (200g), cut into very small pieces
  • 4tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 2tbsp tomoato, finely chopped
  • 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • curry leaves
  • 1 and half tbsp chicken curry masala powder
  • 1/4tbsp pepper powder
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil
  • 1/4tbsp garam masala powder
  • coriander leaves.



Procedure for preparation:


Step 1: Keep the pan on the stove, pour  tbsp oil, and put the ginger garlic paste, onion, tomato, curry leaves and fy it nicely.

Step 2: Then put the chicken pieces and fry it nicely, then put the chicken masala, pepper powder, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and fry for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Then pour 3 glasses of water and allow it to boil nicely, until chicken pieces gets cooked and masala smell goes off. Then garnish with coriander leaves and start serving  the soup.

Mutton soup recipe


                                                         




Ingredients:

  • Mutton pieces with bones (200g)
  • 1/2tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4tbsp pepper powder
  • 1 and half tbsp mutton masala powder
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • curry leaves
  • coriander leaves
  • 1/4tbsp garam masala
  • 4tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 2tbsp tomato, finely chopped
  • 3tbsp oil
  • Salt as per taste


Procedure for preparation:


Step 1: Keep the pressure cooker on the stove and pour oil, following that add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, onion, tomato and fry it nicely.

Step 2: Then put the mutton pieces and fry it for 5 minutes, following that add mutton masala powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and continue frying for another 5 minutes.

Step 3: Pour 3 glasses of water, and close the cooker and allow for 7 whistles.

Step 4: Once the pressure goes down, open the cooker, and garnish with the coriander leaves. And you can serve the hot mutton soup with mutton pieces. If you want more spicy, you can add pepper powder accordingly.

Dry fish curry recipe ( karuvattu kolambu recipe)


                                                          



Ingredients:


  • Dry fish pieces (250g)
  • Small onion (150g), peel it
  • tomato (150g), finely chopped
  • 10 pods garlic
  • curry leaves
  • 4 green chillies, full without slitting
  • 1tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp fenugreek seeds
  • coriander leaves
  • 2tbsp chilli powder
  • 1tbsp coriander powder
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 cup thick tamarind paste
  • oil


Procedure for preparation:


Step 1: Clean the dry fish thoroughly in water.

Step 2: Keep the pan on the stove, pour 5tbsp oil, put mustard seeds, garlic, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves ad fry for 1 minute, Then put the small onion, green chillies and fry for few minutes, following that add tomato and fry it.

Step 3: Then put chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt ad fry for few minutes, the pour the thick tamarind paste, water and allow it to boil, until the masala smell goes off.

Step 4: Then add the dry fish, close the pan, until the dry fish get cooked, Once the dry fish cooked and masala smell goes off, garnish with coriander leaves serve hot with white rice.


Note: when you prepare dry fish, salt should be added accordingly, since already dry fish will be having the salt content in it.

Elephant yam foot fry recipe (karuna kilangu fry recipe)

                                                     





Ingredients:

Elephant foot yam ( karuna kilangu) ( 250g)
1 tomato, paste it
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
curry leaves, finely chopped
2tbsp chilli powder
1tbsp coriander powder
1/4tbsp turmeric powder
salt as per taste
1/2tbsp lemon juice
1tbsp fish fry masala ( available in grocery shop)
Oil for frying


Procedure for preparation:


Step 1: Peel the brown upper layer of elephant foot yam, and cut into very large piece, each piece upto 50g.

Step 2: Then wash it thoroughly in water for 3 times, and put the elephant foot yam pieces in the cooker ans pour some water. Close the cooker and allow for 5 whistles.

Step 3: After the pressure goes in the cooker, take the elephant foot yam and slice into thin pieces.

Step 4: Take a bowl, put tomato paste, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, fish fry masala mix it to thick paste.

Step 5: Apply this thick paste masala on the boiled elephant foot yam pieces.

Step 6: Keep the tawa on the stove, pour 5 to 6 tbsp oil, heat it, then put elephant foot yam pieces one by one on tawa and fry it both side, until it turns its colour, while frying garnish the curry leaves on the yam, it gives, nice flavour to it. Then serve hot yam.
